Lonely Island members really wanted to lose Grammy for 'I'm on a Boat': 'If we win, we can't get on stage'New Foto - Lonely Island members really wanted to lose Grammy for 'I'm on a Boat': 'If we win, we can't get on stage'

The Lonely Island/ Youtube The Lonely Islandwas not laughing when the group was nominated for a real Grammy in 2010. That was the year the comedy trio ofAndy Samberg,Akiva Schaffer, andJorme Tacconewere nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration against serious heavyweights in the genre. Donna Ward/Getty "I don't know if anyone's ever gone to the Grammys hoping to lose more," Schaffer said on Tuesday's episode ofThe Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast. "We were like, if we win, we can't get on stage. We were only confident enough to go cause we were that sure that we were going to lose." Meyers quipped, "You're right, that might have been a a weird tipping point that you wouldn't have recovered from." The video for the song showed the guys in their tuxes, as they were, well, out on the water. The very real rapperT-Painperformed alongside them, as they rapped about being on the deck with their boys, drinking champagne, and wearing their "flippy-floppies." It was another of their videos that fit in nicely with "Threw It on the Ground" and "Jizz in My Pants." Their competition was stiff, songs that were not parodies but actual songs:BeyoncéandKanye West's "Ego"; West,Keri Hilson, andNe-Yo's "Knock You Down"; andT.I.andJustin Timberlake's "Dead and Gone." The winners were West,Jay-Z, andRihannafor "Run This Town." "We were a little salty about not being nominated for comedy album," Samberg said. He joked, "I believe we had had the biggest selling comedy album of the year and, as everyone knows, if you sell a lot, that means it's high quality." TheSaturday Night Livealum recalled that reluctant nominees ran into T-Pain on the red carpet. "Before he said anything, we were like, 'I know.' He's like, 'Dude.' Cause we hadn't talked since we got nominated, and we were like, 'Oh man, this is not a good look.' And he was like, 'You know how many songs I did this year? And this is the one that got nominated?' We were like, 'We know. We're sorry. It's cause we're white." Schaffer emphasized that they hadn't taken the nomination seriously. Sign up forEntertainment Weekly's free daily newsletterto get breaking news, exclusive first looks, recaps, reviews, interviews with your favorite stars, and more."We never for a second thought we'd win, which was, again, a relief and why we could take the whole day as kind of a fun joke that we were there as musicians," he said, adding that he had worn the tux from the video. Samberg had a message for "everyone else that had a good rap song collaboration that year: sorry." The group wasGrammy-nominated two years laterfor Comedy Album for theirTurtleneck & Chain, but they didn't win then either. Listen to the full conversation above. This story contains graphic descriptions that some readers may find disturbing. AsSean "Diddy" Combs' federalsex-crimes trialkicks off its third week with more harrowing testimony, the jury heard from the mogul's former assistant,Capricorn Clark. On the stand May 27, Clark alleged through tears that the hip-hop mogulkidnapped herand threatened to kill her multiple times while she worked for him. Clark testified that she was onceheld against her willfor five days after several pieces ofjewelry went missingat the rapper's home. She said she was "petrified" and forced to take polygraph tests over and over again. Clark worked for Combs between 2004 and 2012. Kid Cudi, born Scott Mescudi, was also brought up in court on May 27, as Clark described Combs rushing to the rapper's Los Angeles home with a gun after learning he was datingCassie Ventura Fine. "I'd never seen anything like this before," Clark told jurors, choking up as she described Combs allegedly breaking into Mescudi's home in a rage. Later on Tuesday, Marc Agnifilo, one of Combs' defense attorneys, zeroed in on Clark's testimony about theconfrontation at Cudi's homeduring his cross-examination. Using RICO law, which is typically aimed attargeting multi-person criminal organizations, prosecutors allegethat Combs coerced victims, some of whom they say were sex workers, through intimidation and narcotics to participate in "freak offs" — sometimes dayslong sex performances that federal prosecutors allege they have video of. Pamela Anderson Brings Her Famous Hair, Fresh Face and 'Fearless' Attitude to New Biolage Campaign (Exclusive)New Foto - Pamela Anderson Brings Her Famous Hair, Fresh Face and 'Fearless' Attitude to New Biolage Campaign (Exclusive)

Pamela Anderson just landed her first-ever haircare campaign with Biolage Anderson tells PEOPLE signing on as the brand's new face was a "dream collaboration" because "we're aligned philosophically" over sustainability practices The actress, who has embraced a natural look over the past two years, also opens up about her hair evolution, the reason behind her latest chop and how she really feels about baby bangs Pamela Anderson"never thought" she'd be hitting her career stride at 57 — let alone booking beauty campaigns. But that's exactly what the actress is doing, one movie role and onemakeup-free red carpet at a time. Her latest takeover? The hair industry. Anderson has partnered with Biolage as the brand's new face — and she's starring in her first-ever haircare campaign to celebrate. "Who would've thought at this age, I'd be in this industry, in the beauty world, and just kind of starting my career? There's hope for all of us," Anderson says with a laugh in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. "I'm enjoying this time in my life. It's really nice." As a longtime activist for animal rights, Anderson tells PEOPLE she was "honored" when Biolage approached her with the partnership, noting that she always admired the brand for its humane, sustainable practices. "We're aligned philosophically," she says. "Cruelty-free and vegan have been parts of my existence for so, so long. Now more than ever, it's in fashion to have compassion. It's an exciting time. Sometimes I have to pinch myself. This is all really happening." Coliena Rentmeester for Biolage Anderson's campaign showcases the brand's best-sellingHydra Source collectionand its newFull Rescue line, focused on hair restoration. The star credits theFull Rescue shampoo, conditioner, restorative maskandscalp serumfor the health of her hair. "I air dry — I always look a little bit crazy, but it's just my natural state," she says. "These products lock moisture in your hair, so your hair doesn't get so frizzy and it feels healthy. You want to have a simple beauty routine that just nourishes, but isn't over-complicated." Anderson notes that 30 years ago, during her career rise in the '90s, her hair routine was much more complicated and damaging because sustainable, clarifying products were very hard to find. "I can't believe I still have a hair on my head with everything it's gone through, with all the hot rollers, and the heat, and the sun, and everything," theBaywatchalum shares. "But I think, genetically, I'm lucky. My hair is very thick and strong, and it's seen a lot. But that's what's so fun about this time in my life, where I actually just go to sleep with my hair a little bit damp, wake up, and it is what it is. And it doesn't matter the haircut. As long as you have good products." Coliena Rentmeester for Biolage Another low-maintenance product Anderson turns to is boxed hair dye — that she often buys on sale! "I just grab any blonde, as long as it's cruelty-free, again. I always make sure that that's the case, and I do it myself. I always have," she says. "I could not sit... I spent so much time in a hair and makeup chair in my career. I couldn't imagine going to a salon or having someone color my hair, unless it was for something specific. I do it myself, 20 minutes, and I get stuff on sale, and that's what I use." Over the past two years, the star has unintentionally become the poster girl for a no-fuss, natural approach to beauty thanks to her makeup-free red carpet appearances and non-conformity to industry ideals. "For me, hair is an expressive tool," she says. "I'm not wearing a lot of makeup these days, but my hair, I like a strong haircut. It's kind of evolved over the last few projects; it's exciting. But I think the number one thing for me is just for it to look healthy — with my hair and with my skin." Coliena Rentmeester for Biolage At the 2025 Met Gala, Anderson changed up her hair last minuteto complement her Tory Burch gownand express just how powerful she was feeling in the design. "Tory Burch made me the dress for the Met, and it was a floating neckline and I thought, 'Oh, we have to go short,'" she shares. "We wanted the bob to float above the neckline. And I think a baby bang looks great — just getting it [the hair] out of my face. Especially at this point, where I'm kind of going out there to the world, I felt like this is another way to say, 'This is who I am.'" "It felt very female, warrior princess. I felt when I was walking in that dress, something came over me. That's the thing that we all crave and look for when we're creating characters, but also coming into ourselves. It felt like a magical, really powerful moment for me to feel so exposed and vulnerable, but so strong." Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Finding strength in beauty is a philosophy Anderson turns to again and again as she continues her Pamassaince. The star is gearing up for another season at the box office with theNaked Gunreboot out this summer, and she feels immense pride in all the opportunities she's getting across industries. "I feel like I've just begun my career, and then to live alongside these brand partnerships, it's really an honor, " she says. "I love where this brand is going. It's part of this new direction, feels like a celebration of authenticity, softness and strength. And that's the warrior in me. I always have been a little bit rebellious, but I love being in the fight. I love being in the mix. I love living my life knowing that I can always do better. That just makes me feel alive. I've never been so at peace, but also, so inspired and fearless." Read the original article onPeople
