Sophia BushandChris Carmackare joining forces for a suspenseful thriller coming to Paramount Movies. But while theGrey's Anatomystars (who never shared the screen on the long-running ABC medical procedural) are a dream team up forOne Tree HillandThe O.C.fans, the trailer forThe Stranger in My Homehas garnered a bit of a lukewarm reaction. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 The twisted psychological thriller, based on the bestselling novel, finds a family's life spiraling out of control after a handsome and mysterious man shows up at the door claiming to be the father of their teenage daughter. Bush plays Ali, the mom to 15-year-old Katie (Amiah Miller), whose perfect life unravels when Carmack's Tom makes the revelation that their children were switched at birth. Per the synopsis, "What begins as an unsettling encounter soon spirals into a nightmare of long-buried secrets, lies and obsession," as the trailer showcases someone kidnapping Katie. Plenty of fans took to the comments of the trailer to voice their opinion, as a handful revealed, "The only reason I'm gonna watch this is for Sophia Bush bc I love her so much!" "Ill watch anything with brooke davis and luke," another echoed, referencing Bush and Carmack's teen drama characters. Others likened it to a Lifetime movie, stating, "It's a basic Lifetime movie premise with one big difference that makes me excited to watch it. When you need a to find a good reason to watch something…..The answer is always SOPHIA BUSH!" Comments continued with, "Looks like a Lifetime movie," "This is not a lifetime TV movie??!! Really??" and "So, Paramount bought Hallmark as well?" A handful also emphasized that the premise felt a bit dated: "2000s called, they want their movie back," "broooo This should have released 2008" and "Should've came out in 2009 or 2006." One might argue that it's kind of the whole point of casting two leads who carved out a dedicated following in the 2000s in that case, right? Paramount is clearly targeting millennials with this one—and, as one comment stated, we're "down for it." You can buy it on digital, June 24!
